3. Our services

KickstartSEO provides SEO services for businesses.

Norman is KickstartSEO’s AI-powered SEO strategist and forms part of how we deliver analysis, guidance, content, and support across selected programmes.

Our services may include research, audits, analysis, strategy, content support, implementation support, reporting, software access, and managed SEO work, depending on the programme you choose.

We currently offer three main programmes:

3a. Optimiser Essentials

A self-directed SEO programme for businesses that want access to our tools and platform resources while working independently.

Optimiser Essentials is provided on a month-to-month basis with no minimum commitment unless we agree otherwise in writing.

3b. Optimiser AI

A client-led SEO programme supported by Norman and the KickstartSEO team. We help you understand priorities, navigate the work, and apply the service more effectively.

Optimiser AI is provided on a month-to-month basis with no minimum commitment unless we agree otherwise in writing.

3c. Optimiser Premium

A fully managed SEO programme where KickstartSEO takes a more hands-on role in delivery.

Optimiser Premium is subject to a minimum three-month commitment unless we agree otherwise in writing.

The exact scope of service depends on your chosen programme, any agreed add-ons, and any separate written agreement between us.

Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, our services do not include unlimited support, unlimited implementation, emergency response work, legal advice, or work outside the agreed scope of your programme.

Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, KickstartSEO is not acting as your website designer, web developer, or general website support company.

Our services do not include website rebuilds, theme edits, template corrections, design changes, code repairs, CSS fixes, JavaScript fixes, hosting support, or general website maintenance unless those items are separately agreed as chargeable work.

If website coding, structure, theme behaviour, layout, or styling issues affect how SEO changes appear or perform, responsibility for correcting those issues remains with the website owner, designer, or developer.

3d. Bespoke and ad hoc services

From time to time, KickstartSEO may agree to provide bespoke, custom, or ad hoc services outside our standard programmes.

These services may include custom pricing, specific deliverables, separate scope, one-off work, project work, consulting, implementation support, or other agreed arrangements tailored to the client’s needs.

Where we agree to provide a bespoke or ad hoc service, we may set out specific pricing, scope, delivery terms, minimum commitment, billing arrangements, or other service conditions separately.

Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, the relevant parts of these Terms and Conditions will still apply to bespoke and ad hoc services, including sections relating to payment, refunds, liability, cancellation, third-party platforms, website responsibility, and legal compliance.

If there is any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and a separate written agreement or confirmed proposal for bespoke or ad hoc work, the separate written agreement or confirmed proposal will take priority for that specific service.

4. Support and communication

Support is provided according to the programme you choose.

4a. Optimiser Essentials support

Optimiser Essentials is a self-directed SEO programme.

Support for this programme is provided through your dashboard and related platform resources. This includes portal guidance, knowledge base content, training videos within the portal, and videos published on our platforms.

Optimiser Essentials is designed for businesses that are comfortable working independently and have at least a basic working knowledge of SEO.

Support under this programme is limited to helping you understand and use the tools, features, and resources we provide. It does not include broader strategic consulting, hands-on implementation, or ongoing one-to-one SEO guidance unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Use of the Onsite Optimizer is optional for Optimiser Essentials clients.

4b. Optimiser AI support

Optimiser AI is a client-led SEO programme supported by Norman and the KickstartSEO team.

Support is provided through your dashboard, onboarding process, knowledge base, videos, blog content, and our support team. The aim is to help you understand the terminology, make sense of the priorities, and apply the work in a practical way.

Use of the Onsite Optimizer is required for delivery of this programme.

We may offer a Power Up session at no extra charge where we believe it is appropriate. A Power Up session is a 45-minute Zoom call designed to help you regain clarity, resolve specific issues, and get back on track.

Power Up sessions are intended to support Optimiser AI clients when they need help regaining momentum. They are not intended to turn Optimiser AI into a hybrid fully managed service.

Where multiple or repeat Power Up sessions are needed, we may charge an additional fee. If so, we will make that clear before any charge is made.

4c. Optimiser Premium support

Optimiser Premium is a fully managed SEO programme.

Support is provided directly by the KickstartSEO team by email, telephone, and Zoom, as needed for the proper delivery of the service.

Use of the Onsite Optimizer forms part of our standard delivery process for this programme.

We aim to remain accessible and responsive, but support is provided during normal business operations and subject to reasonable availability.

Face-to-face meetings are not a standard part of this programme and will usually only take place where we believe they are necessary and both parties agree.

Optimiser Premium is intended as a managed SEO service. Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, it is subject to a minimum three-month commitment.

4d. General support terms

Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, our support does not include emergency response, out-of-hours availability, unlimited consulting time, or work that falls outside the scope of your programme.

We aim to respond to genuine support queries within a reasonable time, but we do not guarantee fixed response times unless a separate agreement says otherwise.

5. Your responsibilities

By working with KickstartSEO, you agree to:

  • provide accurate business information where needed

  • give us the access, permissions, and materials reasonably required to deliver the service

  • respond in a reasonable time to requests connected with onboarding, delivery, approvals, and support

  • use our tools and platform appropriately

  • make payments when due

  • complete any required payment setup, including Direct Debit instruction where applicable, promptly after asking us to proceed

  • follow the agreed cancellation process if you wish to end the service

You are responsible for decisions made within your own business, including whether to approve recommendations, content, implementation, or third-party actions.

You are also responsible for the condition, coding, hosting, design, and general maintenance of your website unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

If delays are caused by missing access, missing approvals, incomplete information, lack of engagement, delayed payment setup, or third-party issues on your side, this may affect delivery, timelines, momentum, and results.

6. Starting service and first billing

Your service begins on the date you confirm that you would like us to proceed. That date is your start date.

The first 14 days from the start date are treated as an initial setup and onboarding period.

This 14-day period begins from the start date whether or not you complete payment setup, access the portal immediately, begin using the platform straight away, or complete onboarding without delay.

For Optimiser Essentials and Optimiser AI, access to the KickstartSEO Portal and onboarding area depends on you completing the required Direct Debit instruction or other agreed payment setup. Once that payment setup is in place, we will normally provision onboarding access within 1 business day.

For Optimiser Premium, this same 14-day period applies as the initial onboarding period. During that time, we may begin onboarding, account setup, planning, implementation preparation, and early delivery activity connected with the service.

By asking us to proceed and completing the required Direct Debit instruction or other agreed payment setup, you confirm acceptance of the applicable billing arrangement and these terms.

We do not charge for this initial 14-day period.

Your first invoice will fall due 14 days after your start date. We issue invoices in advance, so that first invoice will normally be sent 7 days before it is due.

Your ongoing billing date is based on that initial due date unless we agree otherwise in writing.

After that, invoices are issued in advance for each billing period unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

If you decide during the initial 14-day period that you do not wish to continue, you must tell us before the first invoice due date. In that case, no paid billing period will begin.

However, for Optimiser Premium, we reserve the right to invoice separately for any bespoke work carried out at your request during that initial 14-day period.

This initial 14-day period is a commercial arrangement offered by KickstartSEO to business clients. It is not a statutory cooling-off period.

7. Payment terms

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, all invoices are issued in advance.

Invoices must be paid by the due date shown on the invoice.

Where payment is collected by Direct Debit, you are responsible for ensuring that the instruction remains active and that funds are available when payment is due.

If payment is late, we reserve the right to pause access to services, pause ongoing work, withhold deliverables, restrict support, or suspend account access until the account is brought up to date.

Repeated late payment, failed collections, or non-payment may result in suspension or termination of the service.

Any additional work, bespoke work, third-party costs, or out-of-scope work agreed separately may be invoiced in addition to your normal programme fees.

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we do not charge late fees. However, persistent late payment, failed collections, or avoidable payment issues may affect continued service, future billing arrangements, discounts, or eligibility for incentives.

We may change our prices from time to time. Where we do, we will give reasonable notice before the new price takes effect.

8. Refunds

Unless we have made an error, payments already taken are non-refundable.

We do not offer refunds simply because you change your mind after a payment has been made, because our services are provided on the basis that we begin work, provide access, and deliver what has been agreed.

If we have charged you incorrectly, duplicated a payment, or otherwise made a billing error, we will investigate promptly and correct it where appropriate.

Nothing in this section limits any obligation we may have to provide a refund where the law requires it.

9. The Onsite Optimizer

The Onsite Optimizer is the connection between the KickstartSEO Portal and your website.

It allows us to deliver parts of our Optimiser AI and Optimiser Premium programmes by applying approved on-page SEO changes through our platform.

For Optimiser AI, use of the Onsite Optimizer is required. Without it, Norman cannot implement actions and the programme cannot operate as intended.

For Optimiser Premium, use of the Onsite Optimizer forms part of our standard delivery process. Our standard fees are based on this technology being in place.

If a client does not want us to use the Onsite Optimizer as part of delivery, any alternative implementation approach will be treated as bespoke work and a separate fee may apply.

For Optimiser Essentials, use of the Onsite Optimizer is optional. Clients may use it to implement tasks through the portal, or they may choose to carry out those tasks manually using their own website tools, CMS, developer, or other systems.

Use of the Onsite Optimizer requires a code snippet to be installed in the header of your website. Removing the installed code snippet will immediately remove all SEO changes implemented through the Onsite Optimizer.

The Onsite Optimizer does not make physical code changes inside your website CMS. Some changes may therefore not be visible from within the CMS itself.

However, those changes may still be visible on the live website and can be an effective way to implement SEO improvements.

Clients using the Onsite Optimizer should check the live website to make sure they are happy with how changes appear.

In most cases, the Onsite Optimizer code snippet can be installed easily through the Content Management System (CMS). If your website requires manual coding, your website designer or developer may charge a fee. KickstartSEO is not responsible for that fee.

Poorly coded websites may not display changes as expected. KickstartSEO is not responsible for correcting underlying website coding, theme, template, layout, JavaScript, or CSS issues that affect how those changes appear. Responsibility for those issues remains with the website owner, designer, or developer.

Changes made directly on the website may overwrite changes made through the Onsite Optimizer. In the same way, changes made through the Onsite Optimizer may affect what appears on the live website. In simple terms, the most recent effective change will usually take precedence.

For direct clients using the Onsite Optimizer, SEO improvements delivered through the connection will generally remain visible on the live website after cancellation unless they are later changed, removed, or overwritten. However, an active account is required to maintain access to the full Onsite Optimizer functionality and any related portal features.

Where services are provided through an agency arrangement or another third-party structure, content or SEO changes delivered through the Onsite Optimizer may be subject to reversion, replacement, or removal depending on how that website environment is managed.

If the client declines, removes, or interferes with the required Onsite Optimizer installation for a programme that depends on it, KickstartSEO may be limited in what it can deliver and will not be responsible for any resulting delay, disruption, or reduction in service effectiveness.

10. Optimiser AI action cycles, approvals, and automatic actions

Optimiser AI works in recurring action cycles.

Norman works in a monthly cycle using a proven process. Each month, Norman builds a task list and, each week, executes planned tasks under human supervision. Within the KickstartSEO Portal, these tasks are referred to as actions. The weekly and monthly timeframes in which those actions are planned, reviewed, and executed are referred to as action cycles.

In Optimiser AI, the client is the end user and is responsible for decisions about approvals, settings, and review timeframes.

To help actions move forward efficiently, each eligible approval-based action is assigned a due date. If the client does not amend, reject, or otherwise intervene in the action before the due date, Norman will treat that as approval for the action to proceed, subject to the client’s current Approval Center settings. Within the portal, we may refer to this as the client letting the task move forward.

Clients can control how actions are handled through the Approval Center. By default, lead time for review is set at one week, but clients may extend this to two or three weeks through their settings.

Clients can also choose, by action category, whether actions:

  • auto publish

  • need approval

  • are turned off

Available action categories may include items such as review responses, headings, page titles, meta descriptions, blog posts, Google Business Profile posts, website copy, blog strategy, Google Business Profile descriptions, and new page content. These categories and settings may change over time as the platform develops.

Some actions may also be extended in one-week increments by the client where that option is available within the portal.

Some SEO actions within Optimiser AI are carried out automatically without client review or approval. These are usually technical edits that are not normally visible to the average website visitor, but which may still be important for SEO performance and website structure. Examples may include adding or updating image alt tags, canonical tags, and similar technical elements.

Only the action categories shown within the client’s Approval Center are subject to the approval process described above. Technical actions that do not appear in the Approval Center may still be carried out automatically as part of the standard operation of Optimiser AI.

These technical actions are also recorded in Norman’s changelog and, where technically possible and reasonable, may be reverted through the changelog by the client or, in rare cases, with help from KickstartSEO Support.

All actions are recorded in Norman’s changelog. Where technically possible and reasonable, actions may be reverted by the client through the portal. In rare cases, KickstartSEO Support may assist with reverting actions where intervention is needed.

All content written by Norman is based on the guidance, information, and preferences made available by the client, including the Business Profile and Tone of  Voice Guide. The client has visibility of these cornerstone documents through the KickstartSEO Portal and may update them at any time.

Clients are responsible for reviewing their Approval Center settings, keeping their Business Profile and Tone of Voice Guide up to date, and making sure they are satisfied with the level of automation and review time they have chosen.

KickstartSEO is not responsible for delay, disruption, or dissatisfaction caused by client settings, missed review deadlines, outdated guidance in the Business Profile or Tone of Voice Guide, or actions being allowed to proceed in line with the client’s chosen Approval Center settings.

11. Optimiser Premium approvals and automatic actions

Where the Onsite Optimizer is used as part of Optimiser Premium, the same action-cycle logic and automatic technical-action logic may apply.

However, in Optimiser Premium, approval and execution decisions are managed by a KickstartSEO strategist on the client’s behalf as part of the fully managed SEO service.

This means that actions, scheduling, approvals, automatic technical edits, and related implementation decisions may be handled by KickstartSEO without requiring the client to review each individual item in the portal.

Where technically possible and reasonable, actions remain logged in Norman’s changelog and may be reverted if needed through the portal or, in rare cases, with help from KickstartSEO Support.

12. Software, tools and third-party platforms

Some parts of our service depend on third-party platforms, accounts, integrations, websites, hosting environments, analytics tools, search platforms, or software providers.

We are not responsible for outages, changes, restrictions, policy updates, access issues, or failures caused by third-party systems outside our control.

Where our service depends on access to third-party tools or platforms, you are responsible for maintaining any required permissions, logins, subscriptions, or approvals unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

If a third-party platform changes how it works, removes functionality, or restricts access, we may need to adapt the service accordingly.

We are not responsible for loss, disruption, reversal, or removal of work caused by third-party changes, website edits made outside our control, hosting issues, developer actions, CMS limitations, theme conflicts, or platform restrictions.

Where third-party software, website developers, designers, hosting providers, or other external parties affect access, functionality, implementation, or performance, KickstartSEO is not responsible for delays, disruption, reversals, or loss caused by their actions or omissions.

13. Data protection and privacy

Where we process personal data, we do so in line with our Privacy Policy and our legal responsibilities as a UK business.

You are responsible for ensuring that any personal data you provide to us is lawfully obtained and appropriately shared for the purposes of delivering the service.

If you need details about how we handle personal data, cookies, website data, or related matters, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

14. Cancelling your service

If you want to cancel your service, you must notify us by phone or email.

We require at least 15 days’ notice before your next invoice due date. If you give valid notice fewer than 15 days before the next invoice is due, that invoice will still be payable and cancellation will take effect at the end of that billing period.

We do not offer a pause option. You are either an active client or you are not. If you no longer want the service, the correct route is to cancel it in line with these terms.

Once we receive your cancellation request, we will begin the cancellation process and may contact you for further information where needed to close the account safely and avoid undoing work already completed or paid for.

You agree to respond promptly to reasonable follow-up requests connected with your cancellation.

Until the cancellation process has been completed, your service will remain active and any charges due will remain payable.

If you pay by Direct Debit, you may cancel your Direct Debit instruction with your bank at any time. However, cancelling a Direct Debit instruction is not the same as giving notice to cancel your service.

If a Direct Debit is cancelled without valid notice of service cancellation being given, your agreement with us remains in place and any invoices already issued, or falling due under the agreement, remain payable. We reserve the right to recover any outstanding sums by invoice or other lawful means.

We may ask for reasonable information during cancellation to ensure that accounts are closed properly, platform access is handled safely, and paid work is not unnecessarily undone.

Any SEO improvements, metadata changes, content updates, header changes, or similar work already carried out as part of the service will normally remain in place after cancellation unless you, your developer, your website platform, or another third party changes or removes them.

Former clients are welcome to return, but any previous discounts, incentives, or special terms may not still apply.

Optimiser Premium is subject to a minimum three-month commitment. If you cancel within the first 90 days, we reserve the right to invoice for the full remaining amount due for that minimum commitment period.

Any programme-specific minimum terms or separately agreed commitments will still apply where relevant.

15. When we may suspend or end your service

We may suspend or end your service if:

  • invoices remain unpaid

  • payment collection repeatedly fails

  • you materially breach these terms

  • you use the service for unlawful, abusive, or improper purposes

  • continued service is not reasonably possible because required access, cooperation, approvals, or information are not being provided

  • your behaviour towards our team is abusive, threatening, or unreasonable

Where appropriate, we will try to give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue before taking action. However, we reserve the right to act immediately where necessary to protect our team, our systems, our business, or our ability to deliver the service properly.

16. Continuity of service

Michael Nagles is currently the lead SEO strategist at KickstartSEO.

If Michael Nagles becomes unavailable due to illness, incapacity, or other serious circumstances, KickstartSEO will make reasonable efforts to maintain continuity of service.

This may include work being overseen, continued, or communicated by another authorised team member, or an orderly adjustment to how the service is delivered.

Where continuity is not reasonably possible, we will inform affected clients as soon as practical and explain the next sensible step.

Nothing in this section creates a guarantee that services will continue unchanged in every circumstance, but we will act reasonably and in good faith to protect client continuity wherever possible.

17. What we cannot guarantee

We provide SEO services with reasonable care, skill, and professional judgement.

However, we cannot guarantee specific rankings, traffic levels, lead volumes, sales outcomes, search engine behaviour, platform behaviour, indexing decisions, or business results.

Search performance can be influenced by many factors outside our control, including competition, website condition, search engine updates, technical restrictions, client delays, third-party platforms, and changes in the wider search environment.

Where we provide recommendations, forecasts, priorities, or strategic guidance, these are based on the information, access, tools, and conditions available at the time.

We are not liable for outcomes affected by your decisions, your website designer, your developer, your hosting provider, your CMS, or any third-party platform or service outside our control.

18. Changes in search and technology

SEO, search platforms, AI search systems, and website technologies change frequently.

KickstartSEO makes reasonable efforts to stay current with relevant changes, evolving best practices, and practical implementation standards. However, we are not responsible for changes made by search engines, AI platforms, CMS providers, browser technologies, third-party software, or other systems outside our control.

We cannot guarantee that any tactic, implementation method, or platform behaviour will remain available, effective, or unchanged over time.

19. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KickstartSEO will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or loss arising from third-party systems or services outside our control.

Our total liability in connection with any claim arising from the service will be limited to the amount paid by you to KickstartSEO for the relevant service during the three months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow that.

20. Legal compliance

KickstartSEO provides services to businesses only.

We aim to operate in accordance with applicable UK laws and regulations relevant to the services we provide and the way we run our business.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any obligation or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms will continue to apply as far as the law allows.

If there is a conflict between these terms and a separate written agreement signed or expressly agreed by both parties, the separate written agreement will take priority for that specific service.
