Our Nominated Charities for 2026: Supporting Food etc and Yellow Door

Giving back to the communities we live in is a core value at KickstartSEO. Every year, we share the charities we’ve chosen to support. Now that we’ve settled on our nominated charities for 2026, it’s time to do it again.
For 2026, we’re proud to support Food etc and Yellow Door.
One of these names will already be familiar if you’ve been following our story for a while. Food etc was one of our nominated charities in 2025, and our support for them actually began even earlier, in 2024. That makes this the third year in a row that we’ve backed their work.
That matters to us. Real support should not be a one-year photo opportunity.
How we first came across Food etc
We discovered Food etc in 2024 after meeting several of their board and staff members at networking events in Bedford.
What stood out straight away was their passion.
It was obvious they believed deeply in what they were doing, and that kind of conviction is hard to fake. The more we learned about their mission, the clearer it became that this was an organisation doing practical, meaningful work in the local community.
Food etc helps people make better food choices by teaching them how to cook tasty, affordable, healthy meals. Their workshops give people real skills they can use in everyday life, helping families and communities build confidence in the kitchen and make healthier choices on a budget.
That approach really resonated with us.
As a small business ourselves, we knew we were not in a position to make huge financial contributions. But we could still help. We could use the skills we did have to make a difference. So alongside our support, we looked at ways to help Food etc spread the word by improving their website visibility and helping more people discover the work they do.
That felt like the right kind of support. Practical. Useful. Honest.
Why we’ve continued supporting Food etc
Over the past couple of years, Food etc has continued to impress us.
Their work is not flashy. It is not built around hype. It is built around helping people in real, tangible ways. Whether that means cookery workshops, community projects, school partnerships or helping people feel more confident preparing meals from scratch, the thread running through it all is the same: useful support delivered with care.
That is exactly the kind of organisation we’re proud to stand behind.
Why we chose Yellow Door for 2026
Our second nominated charity for 2026 is Yellow Door.
Yellow Door supports people affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence and other forms of interpersonal harm. Their work includes specialist support, advocacy, prevention, education and therapeutic services for adults, children, young people and families.
Like Food etc, this relationship began through a growing understanding of the work they do and the people behind it. We saw the same kind of commitment. The same belief in the mission. The same determination to make life better for people who need support most.
But in this case, there is also a more personal connection.
More than once in my childhood, we made late-night escapes from the kind of home environments Yellow Door now helps people escape and recover from. There was nothing like Yellow Door in the 1970s. No clear support, no safe door to knock on, no organisation built to protect people in that moment.
That is one reason this matters so much to me personally.
We’ll do what we can to help make sure Yellow Door is always there for the people who need it.
Why these two charities
Food etc and Yellow Door are very different organisations, but they share something important.
- Both are rooted in service.
- Both make a real difference in people’s lives.
- Both help people move forward in practical, human ways.
Food etc helps people build confidence, skills and healthier habits around food.
Yellow Door helps people find safety, support and recovery in some of life’s hardest circumstances.
One helps people grow.
One helps people heal.
Both matter.
At KickstartSEO, we have always believed that service comes first. Yes, we help businesses improve their visibility. Yes, we care about growth, rankings and results. But the reason we do any of it is because good work should help real people.
That is why these charities feel like such a natural fit for us.
How we’ll support them in 2026
As with our previous charity commitments, our support will not stop at a polite mention.
We are proud to continue backing Food etc, and equally proud to begin supporting Yellow Door. We will support them by donating our services to help improve their visibility, strengthen their online presence and make better use of the funds and resources available to them.
Because support is not always about writing a cheque. Sometimes it means using your skills to help good people reach more of the people who need them.
That feels like support worth giving.
A final word
Small businesses are part of the communities they serve. We certainly are. Supporting charities like Food etc and Yellow Door will never be a side note for us. It is part of who we are and how we want to do business.
We want to back people who are making life better in practical, measurable, human ways. So, for 2026, we’re honoured to stand behind Food etc and Yellow Door. They are doing important work, and we’re proud to support them.
We hope this helps more people discover what they do.
